Maine Small Estate Affidavit Requirements

- Thirty days have elapsed since the death of the decedent.
- Must be filed in the local county court where the decedent resided.
How to Write a Maine Small Estate Affidavit Form
First, fill in the county. Then, enter the affiant’s name, address and relationship to the decedent. Next, enter the date of the decedent’s death and make sure that all statements in Sections 6,7 and 8 are true.
Finally, the affiant signs and dates the affidavit along with a notary’s signature, date and seal. The document is now valid and may be used to collect the decedent’s assets.
